Rather excited to have Grampian Mountains as guest this month. If you haven’t caught him getting things moving on dancefloors throughout Glasgow of late then you’re in for a treat.  We had him as guest back at Sleazys in November last year and it was a rare old night. Not only that, his radio show on Sub City is always on point and it just so happens he’s also a rather talented designer. Since it’s the first event the lovely folk at Stereo are making it free entry . Expect to hear a bit of everything from across the electronic spectrum… house / disco / garage / rnb / whatever.

We’ll have our friend 10,000% getting things started with Blank Inside residents on hand throughout the night.

Konx om Pax @ Dazzle of Fog

One of our favourite pieces was Suilven by James Anderson and Niall Walker. Essentially a short landscape film about a Mountain in the North West of Scotland, Suilven is a tense yet beautiful piece of film making.  The piece was presented at Dazzle of Fog with a foreboding live soundtrack from composer Giles Lamb which complimented the stunning photography perfectly. Never has a solitary mountain seemed more menacing.

The highlight of the night though was Florence To’s collaboration with Alex Smoke, Fovea, a 20 minute intense visual piece set to a brooding electronic soundtrack that built from sparse industrial noises through to a pulsating cacophony of rhythmic  sounds. Eight individual panels arranged in a curve provided the backdrop for Florence To’s experimental glitchy visuals to flit from screen to screen.

Konx om Pax – Regional Surrealism Trailer

Curated by Independent producer Jim Hutchison and Savalas’ Director Giles Lamb, the event will consist of four specially commissioned pieces that will allow the artists to portray their interpretation of a cinematic experience. The acoustic design for the event and ambisonic implementation is contributed by Dr Nick Fells, Head Of Music at Glasgow University.
